For Jews living in Brazil, many of whom migrated from Morocco and settled in the northern states of Amazonas and Para, these new orientations are a good evolution and a source of enthusiasm as Morocco and Israel have always been linked by cultural relations and identity, Lottenberg added.
On the US decision to recognize the Moroccanness of the Sahara, CIB president described it as a logical position emanating from a strategic ally of Morocco and Israel.
All told, this decision serves peace in the entire region and will help advance the dialogue, he added.
For her part, Rachel Reichhardt, a member of the Shalom Community, said that Jews welcomed with satisfaction and pride this new step that serves peace in the Middle East.
The resumption of relations with Israel is a motive for joy because it comes from a country that has always sheltered and protected Jews, who remain attached to their Moroccan cultural heritage and the values they have shared with Moroccans for centuries, she said.
Jews of Moroccan origin living in Brazil do not miss any opportunity to emphasize this love for the motherland, its culture and history, as they still want to visit Morocco to renew these authentic ties with the Kingdom, she noted.
