This session will be held at 3:00 pm, the House of Advisors said in a release following a meeting of its board on Monday under the chairmanship of Speaker Hakim Benchamach.

During this meeting, held in a virtual format, the board of the Upper House also approved the agenda of the oral questions session of Tuesday, December 29, 2020.

At the end of this meeting, it was decided to submit the report of the provisional thematic group in charge of the assessment of the national water strategy before January 8, 2021, and to schedule a plenary session to discuss it during the current legislative session.

The House of Advisors' board also decided to propose "public policies related to employment" as the theme for the annual session devoted to the review and evaluation of public policies for the current legislative year.

The board called for the creation of a 12-member provisional thematic group to prepare for the annual session devoted to the review and evaluation of public policies on employment, the statement said.

It also decided to submit the legislative texts to the competent committees, namely, the bill amending and supplementing articles 32 and 256 of Law No. 65.99 on the Labor Code, the bill No 19.94 on export free zones and the draft bill on the suppression and liquidation of the pensions of the members of the House of Representatives, it added.

The texts also include bill No. 69.18 relating to pollution from ships, the bill No. 63.20 ratifying the Decree-Law No. 2.20.503 of August 7, 2020 supplementing the Decree-Law No. 2.20. 292 of March 23, 2020, enacting special provisions for the state of health emergency and the measures of its declaration in addition to bill No. 07.20 amending and supplementing Law No. 47.06 relating to the taxation of local authorities (in second reading).

The board also decided to hold a general meeting, on December 29, 2020, just after the oral questions session, to examine and vote on the legislative texts ready.

The members of the board of the House of Advisors also discussed the modalities of integration of the Amazigh language in the works of the plenary sessions of the legislative institution, in accordance with the provisions of article 32 of Organic Law No. 26.16 defining the process of implementation of the official character of Amazigh, as well as the modalities of its integration in education and priority areas of public life.
