The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 439,193, while the number of cured people increases to 407,504, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 92.8%.
A total of 33 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 7,388, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.
These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (14), Beni-Mellal-Khenifra (5), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (4), Marrakech-Safi (3), Fez-Meknes (2), the Oriental (1), Souss-Massa (1), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (1), Draa-Tafilalet (1) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1).
The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (745), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (403), Rabat-Sale-Kénitra (205), Souss-Massa (132), Marrakech-Safi (128), the Oriental (76), Fez-Meknes (45), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (34), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (25), Draa-Tafilalet (37), Guelmim-Oued Noun (17) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (14).
The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 4,018,156 since the start of the outbreak, including 15,808 in the past day.
The number of active cases has reached 24,301, including 1,118 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added. The occupancy rate of the Covid-19 intensive care beds is 36%.
