These figures demonstrate the effort made by administrations to interact with this institution, El Otmani stated during the Government Council.
In 2019, the Ombudsman Institution received 5843 complaints, 3,339 of which were within its field of competence, the head of Government said, as quoted in a press release read by the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Government Spokesman Saaid Amzazi following the weekly Cabinet meeting.
The 2019 report of this institution, published on December 14 in the Official Gazette, highlights its pioneering role in following up on the complaints received from those who have disputes with public administrations, local authorities and bodies with prerogatives under public authority, the head of government stated.
This report aggregates 202 recommendations, 135 of which have been implemented, which represents a rate of 66.83% against only 15% in 2018, he added.
In 2019, the grievances, which covered the areas of investment, moralization and the environment, showed that claimants have new needs and that the Institution itself has developed new directions, El Otmani went on.
The Head of Government then welcomed the positive interaction of administrations and of different departments with the grievances, complaints and correspondence filed to the Ombudsman Institution, calling on them to do more for the benefit of public service and citizens.
He also urged them to consider the proposals and observations contained in the report with a view to making them a basis for concrete measures to improve public services in general.
