The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 450,221, while the number of cured people increases to 422,072, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 93.7%.

A total of 40 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 7,685, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.

These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (8), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (5), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (5), Souss-Massa (4), the Oriental (4), Marrakech-Safi (3), Fès-Meknes (3), Draa-Tafilalet (3), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (3) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (2).

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (515), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (339), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (224), Marrakech-Safi (110), Souss-Massa (105), the Oriental (96), Fez-Meknes (46), Draa-Tafilalet (40), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (26), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (17), Guelmim-Oued Noun (15) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (10).

The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 4,577,298 since the start of the outbreak, including 17,544 in the past day.

The number of active cases has reached 20,464, including 1,192 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
