Morocco Records 801 New COVID-19 Cases, 1,345 Recoveries over Past 24 Hours

Rabat - Morocco has recorded 801 new cases of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) over the past 24 hours while 1,345 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the same period, the Ministry of Health said Tuesday.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 453,789, while the number of cured people increases to 427,351, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 94.2%.

A total of 17 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 7,784, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.

These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (7), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (4), the Oriental (3), Draa-Tafilalet (2) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1).

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (274), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (146), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (132), Marrakech-Safi (62), the Oriental (54), Souss-Massa (41), Fez-Meknes (27), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (20), Guelmim-Oued Noun (17), Draa-Tafilalet (13), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (8) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (7).

The number of active cases has reached 18,654, including 1,045 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
