Morocco Records 1,266 New COVID-19 Cases, 1,927 Recoveries over Past 24 Hours

Rabat - Morocco has recorded 1,266 new cases of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) over the past 24 hours while 1,927 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the same period, the Ministry of Health said Wednesday.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 455,055, while the number of cured people increases to 429,278, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 94.3%.

A total of 26 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 7,810, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.

These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (10), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (4), Fez-Meknes (3), Marrakech-Safi (2), Guelmim-Oued Noun (2), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (2), Draa-Tafilalet (1), Souss-Massa (1) and the Oriental (1).

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (620), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (185), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (115), the Oriental (86), Souss-Massa (68), Marrakech-Safi (66), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (43), Fez-Meknes (35), Draa-Tafilalet (19), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (13), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (10) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (6).

The number of active cases has reached 17,967, including 1,025 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
