Launched Wednesday in the prefecture of Skhirat-temara, this operation is conducted by the Ministry of Health, in close collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, following the emergence of new variants of the virus, characterized by greater transmission among the young people.
It will target 30,000 school and secondary school pupils in the regions of Casablanca-Settat, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Houceima, Fez-Meknes, Marrakech-Safi and Souss-Massa.
According to Ali Malki, head of the department of health institutions at the Skhirat-Temara prefecture health delegation, some 4,000 screening tests will be carried out in the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region, including 1,215 in the prefecture of Skhirat-Temara.
In an administrative circular sent to the regional health directors, the Ministry called for collecting and routing samples to designated laboratories in accordance with procedures detailing technical, operational and ethical aspects outlined by the Epidemiology and Disease Control Directorate.
