The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 457,625, while the number of cured people increases to 432,576, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 94.5%.

A total of 34 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 7,888, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.

These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (8), Fez-Meknes (5), the Oriental (4), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (3), Guelmim-Oued Noun (3), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (3), Marrakech-Safi (3), Draa-Tafilalet (2), Souss-Massa (1), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (1) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1).

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (527), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (231), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (141), Souss-Massa (96), the Oriental (84), Marrakech-Safi (82), Fez-Meknes (49), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (22), Draa-Tafilalet (20), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (17), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (16) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (6).

The number of active cases has reached 17,161, including 1,002 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
