Customs services operating at the port of Nador seized the drug, which was concealed in 9 containers of mineral shipments intended for export, National Police (DGSN) said in a statement.

Investigations conducted by the Judicial Police in Nador, in coordination with the Gendarmerie Royale of Zaïo, made it possible to locate the warehouse where the drug shipments were packed and prepared, in the rural zone of "Ouled Settout", the source added.

Search operations carried out in the warehouse resulted in the seizure of an additional quantity of cannabis resin packed in the same way.

The Judicial Police continues to investigate the case under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office to arrest all those involved in this network and identify the possible national and international ramifications of this criminal activity, the DGSN pointed out.
