In a statement to the press, on the occasion of the reception of this first consignment, the regional director of health of the eastern region Abdelmalek Koualla said that this is the first quantity of the doses of the vaccine against Covid-19 intended for this region.
He added that this quantity which came directly from Casablanca will be used as part of the national vaccination campaign, according to the prioritization criteria established by the Ministry of Health.
For his part, the chief pharmacist of the supply and pharmacy unit at the Regional Directorate of Health Jaouad Rhimi assured that the doses received were stored in cold rooms between 2 and 8 °C, i.e. the stability temperature of AstraZenec's anti-Covid-19 vaccine.
Morocco received, last Friday, a first batch of the British vaccine Astrazeneca, manufactured in India, and it will receive, this Wednesday, the first consignment of the SinoPharm vaccine, from China.
Pursuant to the High Royal Instructions, Morocco acquired a quantity of vaccines sufficient for 33 million inhabitants (66 million doses of vaccines).
