In statements to MAP, these ambassadors said that their trip to Guelmim, Tan-Tan and Sidi Ifni, will allow them to see the major projects launched in this region as well as its tourism, natural and investment potential.
In this context, the Ambassador of Chad Mahamat Abdelrassoul said that the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun is all the more important as it constitutes the "open gateway" to Africa, stressing that this situation reflects the vision of HM King Mohammed VI on relations between Morocco and the African continent and South-South cooperation.
He added that Morocco's interest in Africa is mirrored in the important road infrastructure that contribute to bringing closer the African peoples and boosting the development of economy and African unity.
For his part, the Ambassador of Egypt Achraf Ibrahim noted that this visit is part of the effort to inform diplomats accredited to Rabat about the different regions of the Kingdom and the progress they are experiencing in the fields of roads, health and education.
He added that this trip is an opportunity to explore the possibilities of investment and economic cooperation between Egypt and Morocco, in particular with the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun.
The Russian ambassador Valerian Shuvaev noted that this visit is "very important" for the diplomatic delegation in order to deepen the understanding of Morocco, while the Senegalese ambassador Ibrahim Khalil Seck recalled that his country has always supported the Moroccanness of the Sahara, adding that his stay in Guelmim is an additional testimony to this support.
The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman Said Al Barami highlighted the "great assets" of this region in the areas of transport infrastructure, health, education and agriculture, stressing that this region is witnessing a "global boom" thanks to the significant Moroccan and foreign investments.
