Field interventions carried out in coordination with the Royal Gendarmerie in several localities of the rural commune of "Fask", 25 kilometers south of Assa, led to the discovery of the drug, which was buried in the sand, with a view to transporting it later on as part of an international drug trafficking operation, National Police (DGSN) said in a statement.
This security operation is part of the continuation of the investigation carried out following the seizure on January 17 of nearly 342 kilograms of cannabis resin by the services of the DGSN, said the same source.
The judicial police brigade of the Guelmim security district opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, in order to identify all the people involved in the activities of this criminal network and to determine its possible ramifications at the national and international levels, DGSN added.
This operation is part of the continuous efforts of the services of the DGSN and the DGST to fight against international drug trafficking.
