This facility, which is part of the support for social projects and the integration of people with disabilities, required a budget of 1.79 million dirhams. It was financed by the Agency for North Promotion and Development (APDN), and carried out in partnership with the province of Tetouan, the Hanane Association for the protection of disabled children and private companies in the city.
This project aims to expand the association's early intervention program for disabled children, increase the number of beneficiaries and integrate them into society from early childhood, a statement from the APDN said.
A total of 86 children benefit directly from the services of the center, 38% of whom are girls. The majority of these children have an intellectual disability, while the rest have a motor disability.
Some 344 indirect beneficiaries come from poor neighborhoods in the cities of Tetouan, M'diq, Fnideq, Martil and villages in the province of Tetouan.
This project also touched on the acquisition of the necessary equipment, after the completion of the construction works, said the same source, noting that nine treatment rooms have been equipped to offer sessions of speech therapy, physical and occupational therapy and psychological-social support, in addition to a sensory integration room.
