Security operations carried out simultaneously in Selouane, Al-Aroui, Bouarg, Zghanghan and in Nador led to the arrest of these people and to the discovery of 5 warehouses intended for the production and preparation of logistical equipment used in the organization of illegal immigration operations and human trafficking, National Police (DGSN) said in a statement.
Initial investigations reveal that two of the suspects arrested were wanted by national police for organizing illegal immigration and fraud, while a third one is suspected of being imbued with extremist ideas, according to the same source.
Searches carried out in connection with this case led to the seizure of 10 large inflatable boats, 23 marine engines, 150 kilograms of cannabis resin, 8 cars, 4 fake license plates, a quantity of gasoil and life jackets, in addition to bladed weapons and sewing machines for the manufacture of inflatable boats.
An investigation is underway under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to arrest all the people involved in these criminal activities.
The dismantling of this criminal network takes place as part of efforts made by security services to fight against cross-border crime.
