COVID-19: 339 New Cases Reported, Over 1.3 Mln People Vaccinated (Health Ministry)

Rabat - Morocco recorded 339 new cases of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) over the past 24 hours while 348 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the same period, the ministry of Health said on Sunday, adding that 1,388,539 people have been vaccinated so far.

The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country rises to 478,474 while the number of cured people increases to 458,852, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 96%.

A total of 17 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 8,477, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.8%.

These fatalities were reported in the regions of the Oriental (5), Casablanca-Settat (4), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (3), Souss-Massa (2), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (1), Fez-Meknes (1) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (128), the Oriental (54), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (35), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (32), Souss-Massa (31), Guelmim-Oued Noun (19), Marrakech-Safi (18), Fez-Meknes (6), Laayoune-Sakia Al Hamra (6), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (5), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (3) and Draa-Tafilalet (2).

The number of active cases has reached 11,145, including 472 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
