In a statement to MAP on the sidelines of a visit to several vaccination centers in Laâyoune, Yahyane stressed that the vaccination campaign is taking place in "good conditions" in Laâyoune as in other regions of the Kingdom.
He added that eligible people are adhering to this campaign in large numbers, stressing that the various health centers in the city of Laâyoune are using all the means provided by the Ministry of Health to vaccinate the largest number of citizens.
"We have noticed that the citizens are received in good conditions and the medical and administrative staff are mobilized to ensure the success of this operation," he added.
According to the regional health delegation, sixteen vaccination points have been planned for this campaign in Laâyoune, including 10 in urban areas and 6 in rural areas, 5 in Es-Semara, 5 in Boujdour and 7 vaccination points in Tarfaya.
Yahyane said the vaccination campaign, two months after its nationwide launch, is "excellent and successful" and has so far inoculated more than 1.9 million people.
The Director of Population at the Ministry of Health noted that the vaccination which has been extended to people over 65 and frontliners under 40, will gradually involve other categories of the population depending on the quantities of vaccines received until the free vaccination of all citizens aged over 17.
He also reassured citizens on the safety of the vaccine against Covid-19 and on its possible adverse effects, specifying that the Ministry of Health is monitoring this subject "very closely" and reacts promptly to any related information.
