According to the ministry, 2,635,859 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far (first dose), while 31,232 people have received the second dose of the vaccine.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 481,709 while the number of cured people increases to 466,105, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 96.8%.

A total of 15 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 8,574, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.8%.

These fatalities were reported the regions of Casablanca-Settat (2), Marrakech-Safi (1), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (4), the Oriental (3), Souss-Massa (4) and Draa-Tafilalet (1).

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (266), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (56), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (51), the Oriental (18), Marrakech-Safi (18), Souss-Massa (8), Draa-Tafilalet (7), Dakhla Oued-Eddahab (7), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (4), Fez-Meknes (4), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (4) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (3).

The number of active cases has reached 7,030, including 440 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
