In an analysis published on Wednesday on the AtlasInfo website, Tossa unraveled the ins and outs of the Algerian position on the Sahara issue and its claims of neutrality in a conflict between Morocco and the Polisario Front, by affirming that it is a territorial dispute which has to be settled between the two parties.
A deceptive posture uncovered thanks to the indisputable Moroccan diplomatic performances which have succeeded in bringing down the masks of a hypocritical Algerian diplomacy, noted the editorial writer.
According to him, the time when Algerian diplomacy hid behind false neutrality is in the past. Each time Algeria was questioned in international forums about its involvement in this crisis, it swore that it had nothing to do with this conflict and that this territorial dispute should be settled between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Polisario Front.
He explained that this position has long been the justifying showcase of Algerian diplomacy. It embodied a tendency of covering-up and manipulating which fooled nobody.
"For Moroccans, Algeria has always followed the Libya of Muammar Gaddafi, the committed and generous sponsor of the Polisario separatists. It has not only mobilized its entire diplomatic apparatus to sell this Lobbying-backed dream, it also put at the service of this cause huge human and financial resources", affirmed Tossa.
Today, thanks to the indisputable Moroccan diplomatic performances, "the masks have fallen". The Algerian regime, which was trying to deceive its neighborhood, can no longer afford the luxury of disguised neutrality.
