Recently, Rached Ghannouchi had asserted, in statements run by the media, that a "triangle composed of Tunisia, Algeria and Libya, would be a starting point to promote the dream of the Arab Maghreb Union, like the beginning of the launch of the European Union".
According to Mustapha Tossa, thinking of building the unity of the Arab Maghreb between three countries, Tunisia, Libya and Algeria, without Mauritania and Morocco, is not only an "incongruous" and "unrealistic" idea, but it is also an "openly provocative" statement.
In an analysis entitled "Rached Ghannouchi, the gravedigger of the Maghreb", published on the site Atlasinfo, Mustapha Tossa notes that "Ghannouchi has clearly chosen his camp, that of division and discord".
With this idea, he "joined the gravediggers of the united Arab Maghreb. Those who, instead of seeking to eliminate the obstacles that stand before its building, starting with the conflict in the Sahara which is maintained by the Algerian military, are multiplying the complications to postpone the unitary dreams of its populations".
