This program-contract, with a budget of 574 million dirhams, aims to improve the economic attractiveness of the region, support economic competitiveness, strengthen road infrastructure and promote higher education.
The meeting was chaired by the president of the Regional Council, El Khattat Yanja, in the presence of the Wali of the Region of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, governor of the province of Oued Eddahab, Lamine Benomar and the governor of the province of Aousserd, Abderrahaman El Jaouhari.
During this session, 14 projects and programs were approved. These programs are divided into three axes, namely "competitiveness and attractiveness of the territory," "sustainable development" and "social and territorial cohesion."
The first axis, with an estimated budget of 264 million dirhams, touches on the implementation of 9 projects ranging from the rehabilitation of the liquid sanitation network to the establishment of a regional development observatory.
A budget of 290 million dirhams will be allocated to fund 3 projects aimed at developing a logistics zone in the port of Dakhla, a seaside resort of El Argoub and of other beaches.
20 million dirhams will be allocated to fund two projects part of the "social cohesion" axis, namely the creation of a Center for education professions and the construction of two health centers.
Ministerial departments will pitch in 170 million dirhams to finance this program-contract while the regional council will contribute with 403 million dirhams.
In a press statement, the president of the Regional Council stressed that holding the March ordinary session in El Guerguarat was decided "to mark the national epic that took place in this very important area for the Kingdom."
