Morocco accounts for 94% of the people vaccinated in Africa, Italian daily noted in a story under the title "Vaccinations: Morocco Does better than France and Italy: 9% of the population protected.''
This result was achieved thanks to a progressive policy that started with a symbolic ceremony, during which HM King Mohammed VI received the first dose of the vaccine, "setting a good example for the country's citizens,'' it said.
Morocco "rises in the global ranking in terms of immunization coverage, involving a higher number of inhabitants than Italy, France and most European states, hence, the general data on the pandemic leads to optimism," according to the same source.
These figures are remarkable as they are recorded in "a country that is part of Africa, a continent considered particularly vulnerable and where a wave of cases was feared (...) But, instead, Morocco is becoming an exception in terms of prevention policies against Covid, as figures show."
Citing data from the Ministry of Health as of February 27, the daily stressed that 3,600,000 people had received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine out of a total population of 37 million.
