3,657,468 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far (first dose), while 293,857 people have received the second dose of the vaccine, the ministry said in its daily update on the situation of the Covid-19.
The new figure brings the total number of infections since the first case reported last March to 484,159, while the number of people who have recovered has risen to 469,868, a recovery rate of 97%.
The total number of deaths rose to 8,645, with 8 new cases recorded in 24 hours, a case fatality rate of 1.8%.
The fatalities were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (01), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (02), the Oriental (01), Marrakech-Safi (02), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (1) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (01).
New cases of infection have been identified in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (274), the Oriental (34), Marrakech-Safi (18), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (16), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (15), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (14), Darâa-Tafilalet (06), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (06), Souss-Massa (04), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (03), Fez-Meknes (02) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (01).
The number of active cases stands at 5,646, including 380 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
