On the basis of precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), this operation was carried out in the Benssouda district in Fez, National Police (DGSN) said in a statement, adding that the suspect was arrested on his arrival in a commercial car.

Search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 500 kg of cannabis resin, in addition to three mobile phones and a sum of money, the source added.

The suspect, who has a criminal record for drug cases, was placed on custody, while investigations are underway under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
