This approach is part of the positive and profound changes that Morocco is experiencing at the level of the Constitution and related organic laws to promote the participation of women in the management of local public affairs, he said at a conference held recently in Rabat by the Ministry of National Land Development, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy.
The dynamics of the gender approach in local democracy and other fields reflect the role of women as a real actor of communal management and local development, Boudra added.
According to him, this dynamic can not be dissociated from the achievements of the development process conducted under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, at all levels, including human rights.
Gender equality in local life is not only achieved by strengthening the representation of women in elected institutions and in the development of local public decisions, but also by incorporating the gender approach in all local policies, Boudra noted.
The conference was held under the theme "Integration of the gender approach in projects of the city policy," on the occasion of International Women's Day.
