Born in 1951 in Tetouan, the late Mohamed Ismaïl joined the Moroccan Television in 1974 where he produced and directed several films, TV shows and plays.
His filmography includes "Pourquoi pas" (2005), "Allal al Kalda" (2003), "Awlad Lablad" (2009), "Adieu mères" (2007) and "Aouchtam" (1996).
Some of his works won awards in several festivals internationally. He received the Best Screenplay Award at the Brussels Independent Film Festival for his film "Ici et là", Golden Star for Best TV Film for "Allal al Kalda" and Director's Award and Grand Prize at the International Arab Television Festival in Cairo.
