These talks, which are part of the opening of the region on its external environment, also focused on the progress of the " Economic Empowerment of Women in Morocco's Argan Sector" project (REFAM), funded by Global Affairs Canada to support women working in this sector and improving their incomes, a statement from the presidency of the council of the region said.
The meeting was also an opportunity to inform the Canadian diplomat of the region's assets in terms of agriculture, tourism, nature and industry, which could attract Canadian investment, it added.
The Regional agricultural development office of Souss-Massa has recently launched a project to plant 406 hectares of argan trees in the communes of "Belfaa" and "Ait Milk" in the province of Chtouka-Ait Baha. This project is part of the program to develop the cultivation of argan in vulnerable areas, which comprises an area of 10,000 hectares.
