Social Protection Project, Factor of Integration and Social Cohesion Strengthening -Political Scientist

Rabat - The implementation of the major project of generalization of social protection, launched Wednesday by HM King Mohammed VI at the Royal Palace of Fez, is a "factor of integration and social cohesion strengthening," political scientist and academic Mustapha Sehimi said.

This "important strategy" will have beneficial effects on the working conditions and, consequently, on citizens' lives, who will be better protected, Sehimi told MAP.

Alongside "employees with status", this strategy is aimed at people working in the informal sector as they will now be eligible for social rights, he noted.

"Entire categories will have the same status, will be subject to the same regime, and will enjoy the same benefits," the academic said, adding that the social dimension remains omnipresent in all Morocco's fundamental laws since 1962.

The political scientist highlighted the importance of full citizenship that involves, alongside political, civic and economic rights ..., social rights, "essential for human dignity”.
