In an article published under the title "The royal project for the generalization of social protection, a revolution which benefits ordinary Moroccans", the website which quotes trade unionists, politicians and analysts underlines that the royal project is a "qualitative and historic leap" in the framework of the social programs launched by HM the King.
Moroccan political and social spheres have welcomed the project, which represents "a social revolution that is likely to improve the living conditions of ordinary Moroccans, especially employees and those working in the informal sector", it notes, adding that this project should make a major contribution to combating poverty and vulnerability.
The author of the article stresses that the royal project will allow several categories not previously covered by health coverage to benefit from pension, health insurance and family allowances.
This approach "is not foreign to the Sovereign. It is in line with the philosophy that HM the King has adopted since his accession to the Throne, and which places the human being at the heart of sustainable and global development", the source underlines.
Royal policies during the reign of HM King Mohammed VI focus on empowering vulnerable groups with decent livelihoods, through broadening the base of social protection or through major royal projects, it says.
Al-Ain News called the royal initiative a "big step", which will allow a total of 9 million workers in the country to enjoy the same benefits as those affiliated with the social security system.
This Royal project, which will initially benefit farmers, craftsmen and professionals, traders and independent service providers subject to the unified professional contribution scheme (CPU), the auto-entrepreneur scheme or the accounting scheme, will be extended, in a second phase, to other categories with a view to ensuring the effective generalization of social protection to all citizens.
