The number of people vaccinated to date (dose 1) has reached 4,808,303 while 4,233,682 others have received the second dose of the vaccine, said the ministry in its daily report on the situation of Covid-19.
This new figure brings to 509,972 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in March 2020, while the number of recovered people rose to 496,031, a recovery rate of 97.3%, added the ministry.
As for the total number of deaths, it rose to 9,005 with 6 new cases recorded in 24 hours, i.e. a case fatality rate of 1.8%. These deaths were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1), Marrakech-Safi (1) Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (2) and Guelmim Oued Noun (1).
The new contaminations were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (334), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (55), Marrakech-Safi (33), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (18), Laayoun Sakia El Hamra (14) , Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (13), Souss-Massa (11), Draa Tafilalet (9) , the Eastern region (8), Guelmim Oued Noun (6), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (4) and Fez-Meknes (2).
The number of active cases amounts to 4,936, while severe or critical cases are 344, of which 16 are placed under intubation.
