The "Center for World University Rankings (CWUR)", a private organization in the United Arab Emirates specialized in the review of education and research systems, publishes since 2012 an annual ranking of the best universities in the world.
The annual ranking of the world's universities "Global 2,000 List by the Center for World University Rankings" for the 2021-2022 edition includes only the 2,000 best universities in the world out of a total of 19,788 universities.
The UM5 University ranks 9th among Arab universities, 11th among African universities and 946th in the world for the 2021-2022 edition, which puts this institution in the top 4.8% of the best universities in the world, said the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research in a statement on Sunday.
The other Moroccan universities present in this ranking are Mohammed Ist University of Oujda (1,028), the Cadi Ayad University of Marrakech (1,034) and Hassan II University of Casablanca (1,075), which places these three universities in the top 5.4% best universities in the world, the same source said.
Morocco occupies an excellent ranking at the African and Arab level with 4 universities. It ranks fourth in Africa and fourth in the Arab world in terms of the number of universities ranked.
CWUR uses objective and robust indicators grouped into four areas to rank the world's universities, namely quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty and research performance.
