El Otmani, who was speaking at the weekly meeting of the Government Council in Rabat, stressed that this Royal initiative stems from the principle that the Sovereign reaffirmed during his telephone call with the Palestinian President according to which the Kingdom of Morocco places the Palestinian issue at the same rank as the national cause and will never abandon the Palestinian people and the defense of their rights.

Quoted in a statement read at a press briefing at the end of the Council by Saaid Amzazi, Government Spokesman, El Otmani stressed that Morocco succeeded in providing assistance to the Palestinians, adding that the Moroccan people have expressed their support to this initiative as well as their solidarity with the Palestinian people.
